Our Story

Handy was founded in 2019 in Ukraine, working with enterprise clients, like DTEK and Interpipe, that have more than 20,000 employees combined, to shape our MVP. During the COVID-19 pandemic, we helped clients with communication, training, and staff management, fostering growth for both them and us.

In 2021, we expanded into Europe, starting in Poland, where received support from Google for Startups in Warsaw (special thanks to Google for their support) and a grant from EU.

By 2022, we saw a great opportunity to expand into the North American market, and Canada stood out as the best option. The country offers strong support for the AI sector and a friendly business environment, making it an ideal place for our growth and innovation.

In 2024, we launched Version 5.0 with a freemium model and flexible pricing tiers, making Handy.ai accessible to businesses of all sizes, from large enterprises to small businesses.

Handy Studio is our new Low-Touch Builder that simplifies integration, allowing any business to easily implement our AI solutions. We're also focusing on building partnerships to drive growth and innovation.

Our Team

Our team at Handy.ai is spread across the globe, with members in Ukraine, Europe, and Canada. We are proudly headquartered in Toronto, Canada, at the DMZ incubator, which helps us bring together a wealth of expertise and perspectives to create the best solutions for our clients worldwide.

Founders

Iryna Andriushchenko

Iryna, co-founder and COO, has over 20 years of experience in media and communications. Her strong leadership skills and passion for tech naturally led her to start Handy.ai, where she focuses on making AI technology easy for businesses to use. She is a mentor is the DMZ Incubator and published speaker in the Conference Board of Canada.

Volodymyr Demianenko

Volodymyr, co-founder and CEO, is an engineer by trade and has more than 18 years of experience in leading IT businesses. He leads Handy.ai by working on a advancing the digital platform that uses AI to improve business operations for all businesses. He is founder of UA Tech Canada community and is speaker at the Big Money Canada conference.

Ukraine Refugee Assistant Initiative

When the war in Ukraine began in February 2022, Handy.ai's co-founders faced a critical choice. Amidst the escalating crisis, they recognized their AI expertise could aid Ukrainian refugees, leading to the development of the Handy Friends Initiative. This AI Virtual Volunteer Coach provided essential support to over 100,000 displaced individuals, helping them find housing and employment in new countries, marking a turning point in the company's mission.
